mdi ipod interface photo please

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am thinking of changing my 08 VRS to a new Oct vrs and would love to see a photo if someone could help me out of the headunit when its displaying the ipod on it via the mdi before I buy?

The reason I am asking is that in my current car I have a Kenwood DNX8220BT which has everything on it and I am just deciding whether to sell it or move it across to the new VRs should I decide to buy.

Cheers

Are you considering getting the Columbus (inc sat nav) or Bolereo? I have the MDI on the Bolereo - will be able to post a pic at the weekend if noone has done so before.

This is from the Columbus, the Bolero is virtually the same layout (except for Touchscreen)

Yes I am happy with it.

My MDI was factory fit, Columbus & Bluetooth kit was an easy retrofit by me (under a couple of hours), just need 10 mins with VCDS to code the maxidot

Sorry to put a downer on things but there's another recent thread saying that the Bolero can't control the ipod in the same way as what the Columbus can.

I think that person decided just to use the SD slot for music. There starts more problems but see here for that solution.

The Bolero I removed from the same car controlled the IPod in the same way as the Columbus

Hmmm, after seeing your reply I thought I'd better have a look to see if my memory was playing up.

Here is the post - #10. I think you'd better try and see it in action first as it could be a costly addition and still may not do what you want
