Elegance spec Bluetooth & Blackberry

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'm in the final throes of placing my order for a 170bhp Elegance. My dealer isn't too clear about the following:

The standard equipment includes telephone pre-installation GSM II with Bluetooth.

Does this mean that, with a compatible phone, once paired up the car becomes a big hands-free kit? This is the case with my wife's Fiesta, and it's very useful.

Slightly worryingly, the list of approved handsets doesn't include any Blackberry models. Is this an omission, or are Blackberry's just not supported?

If that's the case, is there an easy fix?

Cheers

Hi,

I have a 140Tdi Elegance, so Bluetooth as standard and yes this does sync' with my Blackberry. However, as with my previous Seat and a mates Audi TT (both with built in Bluetooth) with sync' drops out regularly. No consistant timing, it can drop within a minute or be connected for hours and has never dropped out during a call. In my Seat I used a Nokia phone and it never had any issue, so I think this is more of a Blackberry thing than a VW / Bluetooth issue and IT at work are hopeful it will be better with future Blackberrys, we shall see.

Apologies if this has just added to the confusion.

Thanks Tony

What model is your Blackberry - I've got the Storm, and will probably change to another Blackberry towards the end of the year.

I believe it's a Storm (It's supplied through work)
