Superb Solid alloys

Featured Replies

I posted a while ago about having a seriously dented "solid" wheel (hit a pot hole). To cut a long story short, the council wont pay out for it and when I tried to get it fixed the wheel cracked :'(

soooo.... does anyone know where you can get hold of replica Solids? I am not paying £220 from VAG for 1 wheel.

Or does anyone have 1 solid alloy they would like to sell me in the north east? :) not bothered about it having a tire

Thanks

Ian

The council can't refuse, issue a small claim against them.

i'd send them a letter saying you will be getting the services of a solicitor acting on your behalf....see if that will make them think twice before fobbing you off.!

Failing that, someone on here might have a spare solid alloy to match your wheels, other than that a good alloy wheel specialist might help out...but you might need 4 instead of the one. Best of luck.

+1 for sending a solicitor's letter,

You could also try local breakers as well.

If it comes down to it, you could try shifting your 3 solids and buying these. Failing that RS6 alloys (old style) look similar. Replicas can be had cheaply enough. Can understand if you want to keep it OEM though.

Thanks for replys guys. Havent had a chance to chase the council yet, wil get on the case end of the week hopefully.

To top this saga off, I took my car for an MOT today, everything was fine except for running on a sapre which is 16", where as the solids are 17" so got a big fat FAIL for the MOT. suppose its quite funny really, glad the rest of the car is fine.

If you're still looking - there's a single solid alloy on Ebay now - if you search for "Skoda Superb Solid" you'll find it.
