Where does that line-in interface connect to on the HU?

Hmm, looks pretty nice - any change the lead can be put through the vent and down to the back of the HU that way? Might look tidier?

How much was the interface?

First question: Didn't think of feeding the lead through the vent - there's bugger all room round the back of the head unit, the only practical place for the interface box was inside the passenger footwell cover which made it obvious to run the cable around and up. Might be do-able though.

It connects to the CD-changer socket - the socket is sort of divided into two and the interface takes the smaller of the two sockets. The only other thing you have to worry about is finding a 'good' earth to attach the interface's earth lead to - I simply screwed it to a hole in the back of the HU chassis. Works fine.

received tonight, sounds promising,160 quid for the ice link is way too over priced imho, this should do until i can afford an alpine HU

"""""Good Morning Jason,

Thanks for the recent enquiry.

We can supply an audio opener interface that will allow you to connect the ipod to your original head unit in your Skoda. There are a couple of points that you need to be aware of though:

1) Our interface emulates the original CD multi-changer and utilises the CD port on the back of the head unit. Consequently you can't use our interface in conjunction with the OEM changer.

2) Our audio opener interface is not a fully functional interface i.e. you can't control the functions of the ipod from the head unit, only the audio level.

If you require this interface, we can supply it direct, details as follows:

Interface Part Number: VAGX1
