Mayrun MR800 Tyres

Featured Replies

I have been thinking of how best to do this and I think this is the easiest way for MK1 octy drivers to see what people think of the tyres from their own experiences.

Will be a bit like the reviews just only what people think of them on their mk1 Octavias.

Reviews need to be in this format for simplicity:

Website for the Tyre:

http://www.mayruntyres.co.uk/mr800.html

DIMENSIONS: 225 40 18

Mileage covered: 250

DRY GRIP: 7/10

WET GRIP: 5.5/10

SNOW GRIP: 3.5/10

FEEDBACK: 5/10

PROGRESSIVE: unknown

WEAR: unknown

COMFORT: 7/10

Your Comments:

For a new CHEAP tyre I am very impressed. I got them with the wheels and they are new and covered little mileage. Over the last few days Ive driven on nice dry roads, soaking wet roads and SNOW lol.

Dry its a nice drive and really smooth so far, not silent but very quiet compared to the Kumoh/Admiral 712.

Wet unless you really push hard on get away they are pretty grippy really and I think that they are really good tyres for the money

I will update the scores when I have used them a bit more.

Thats the kind of thing I am after and Ill start up some more of ones Ive used on my car aswell as some I haven't ie good ones lol.

cheers

Much as I'm sure you like them, having seen the website, made in china and a lot of the claims there I'd not trust my life to a set of them.

All those mods and **** rubber?

Just buy proper tyres, PLEASE! They're cheap for a reason :)

Ditchfinders on a vRS,..No thanks

mayrun, may skid, may end up in a field...

I looked at their size chart, and wouldn't touch them with a bargepole based on that alone. A foreign manufacturer not speaking perfect English I can forgive, but a tyre manufacturer who makes contradictory statements about the speed rating of their tyres I can't. I just looked again, and they also manage to make contradictory statements about the width of their tyres!!!
