Wiper Weirdness

Featured Replies

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Having driven my Superb II in the rain, with the rain sensor function activated. The wipers seem to do a sweep of the screen, then rest back about one inch higher than before they did their sweep. Like they are not returning, then after a few seconds return to where they were. When they do any subsequent wipes the same thing happens.

I have looked at the manual, but cannot find any mention of this.

Any comments, or anyone know the reason this happens?

Regards

SJ

IIRC, all most new VAG cars do this now. It's to help reduce wear on the wiper blades and increase longevity by changing where they park

Thanks for the reply, the wipers move when I turn the car off. But the wipers only move a fraction to flip the sweep position of the blade.

However when the rain sensor is activated and the wipers are in use they stop about an inch higher than normal. Before returning to the bottom of the screen, and then sweeping again. That's what has prompted the question and my curiosity.

There is mention of it in the current manual, its quiet normal an both my current superb and previous octavia do/did it.

The 07-09 Honda CRV does exactly the same, seems pretty common place.
