does anybody know how you get to the bulbs in the mirror housing on the octavia elegance on a 57 plate

The indicator bulbs? They are a sealed unit and can't be replaced.

If you are talking about the downward pointing 'puddle' lights you have to carefully remove the plastic colour coded mirror shell. It pulls up and slightly towards the rear of the car at the same time and can be quite tricky to remove and you need to be forceful with it, take care with the thin part under the mirror glass, have the mirror pointing down as it helps. The bulb is a W5W sidelight type bulb that sits in a plastic housing, a quarter turn and out it comes.

If you get a set of Halfrauds Torx Allen Keys, then it is possible to get the indicator unit out without removing the shell

Just dont break the glass like i did trying to get it out

The genuine mirror glass seems to be quite a tight fit, i spent about 10mins trying to get the mirror unclipped from the backing plate. The glass gave way first

Im guessing the Classic spec doesn't have the W5W puddle lights?

Mine just seems to be a L.E.D indicator unit?

I found by turning the mirror glass fully in then tug outside, try get fingers right in the back to catch plastic as opposed to glass.
