Bluetoothing a HTC Touch Pro II (Vodafone version) to the Columbus

Featured Replies

In my Scout (pre-facelift) I've got a factory fitted Columbus (firmware updated to 268n). I've also had the OEM Bluetooth unit added (1Z0-035-729 - note no suffix letter!) - I understand that this is also known as GSM II (2) preparation and uses HFP rather than rSAP to communicate with the phone.

I can pair the two together, and access the phone and phonebook via Maxidot and the stalk, but not via the Columbus.

Previously, I had a HTC TyTn II and once Jetware was loaded everything worked as it should - again my understanding is that Jetware adds the HFP to the BT Stack - unfortunately Jetware doesn't want to work with the Windows Mobile 6.5 that's loaded on my Touch Pro II.

I've tried a new SIM card but that hasn't helped - I now have 6 days to get this to work, before loosing the right to return the phone to Vodafone....

Now for the questions...

Can I simply swap my GSM II unit for premium GSM III (3) bluetooth unit?

What's the part number for the III?

Does anyone have one that I can try before purchasing one to see if it solves my problem?

Thanks (in anticipation) for your helpful replies.... emoticon-0105-wink.gif
