VAG-COM very slow

Featured Replies

Right I'm just using the freebie version until I decide it's worth buying the real thing. I have a feeling I'm missing something though - I've got it all up and running, but VAG-COM runs like a dog and the diagnostic checks take ages. Is that normal?

No - not normal at all. I suspect the wire you are using is seeing all kinds of communications errors which cause the software to constantly ask for the same info over and over until it gets a valid message.

Not a normal condition. VCDS and VAG-COM are both way faster than the factory tool itself. Whatever is going on is a function of your PC and your wire.

It's definitely not the PC. I am seeing loads of communication errors so I guess it must be the cable itself. Cheers.

FWIW it's deffo the cable - all sorted now.

Never doubted that it was the wire. ;)
