hi all,i am planning to tow a caravan with my 1.9tdi 4 speed auto.the owners guide says a cooling mod may be needed?has anyone got any advice regarding this and has anybody fitted extra cooling to this gearbox,thanks

Not heard of this before! I would think removing the plastic splash guards from under the engine/gearbox would help cooling though.

It should be OK under normal towing use TBH.

I would be inclined to have an aditional oil cooler fitted... They're not too expensive and your gearbox will appreciate it under hard towing conditions.
