Nissan X Trail 2.0d Aventura.

Featured Replies

With the Mad Wife wanting a change of car, and deciding she needed a 4x4, despite the Passat coping admirably with the recent inclement weather, I was sent on a mission, with the Polo to chop in, and a fairly large lump of dosh to play with. ( Where does she get the money from? I'm always skint!)

I test drove.....

Tiguan : very nice, drove well but too few twiddly bits, and very expensive.

Freelander: I didn't quite gel with it somehow, and the new shape ones were over budget, and the niggles of unreliability put me off.

Yeti: seriously considered, but the spec we/she wanted was unavailable and new ones are expensive and I can't wait 3 months, the looks also put the wife off.

Navara: Just too big, thirsty and utilitarian, plus as I pointed out to the wife, the bigger it is, the more chance she has of hitting something..

X Trail: It just hit the spot straight away.Drives like a big car, suprisingly nimble and relatively frugal ( mid 30's in town driving so far ) Heated leather, a massive sunroof, integrated bluetooth, cruise, and enough twiddly bits to satisfy an inquisitive child ( me, basically!).

The back is also big enough to fit the dog, all the weeks shopping, plus a body or two....

Plus the saving of 10 grand over a new one, yup, it's lost 10k in 12 months, means we are happy bunnies, and can afford a proper holiday this year, and treat Katie, (the starving student) when she needs anything ( 50 quid for one book, that she only needs for one assignment is madness, and 80 quid a week to live in a cupboard is shameful.)

There ya go.

Nissan X Trail....buy one!

Lightcliffe Nissan...

A place I swore I'd never set foot in again, but a change of staff, and the excellent service they gave a friend who recently bought a 'Note" changed my mind.

When I bought my 123D, the other vehicle I was weighing up was the X Trail. I had a go in the 173bhp diesel and was quite impressed. I had sold them for about a year too, which is where I got to like them. In the end the performance of the 123D seduced me and the certain knowledge that we would never see snow again in this country.

Now I have a garage full of bodies that I can‘t fit into the boot of the ruddy thing and will have to borrow a van to dispose of them.

Will be changing my car this year so…………………………
