Water Pump - Metal Impellor

Featured Replies

Anyone had to buy one recently?

Where did you source it from.

I have looked on GSF or Eurocarparts although neither specifically state Metal Impellor and would prefer a metal one. (opens a can of worms) - discuss

What about Follets (http://www.follettmotors.com) anyone used them recently and know if they are still trading - reliable. I tried calling the number, but it has been changed and would prefer to order if someone has used them recently and can confirm they are still in business.

Thanks

I got my metal one from GSF a few years back. If you go down there just ask to see it first.....

i've heard the non gen stuff have metal impellors, all ours have plastic ones which is basically an easy way to make money when they corrode and die

Brill cheers mate - did you notice what warranty if any comes with the GSF part?

No idea! All I cared about was finding one with a brass impellor!

The plastic OE ones are essentially crappy, so don't get one! If you do a quick search you'll see what happens to the plastic impellors (they break up and block the coolant tracts and thermostat).

The metal ones don't corrode.

And presumably wreck the engine the engine in the process :S

i got mine direct from the local VW dealer. apparently its a fault that vw have dealt with and all replacements are metal.

thats not strictly true, just been and checked one of ours and they are still plastic for the vrs, there is a new part number which isnt orderable till end of april and this maybe the new metal impellor ones, some do come with metal ones already but not the vrs yet

to be fair i did get it from the VW dealer as i had to order it for a golf. so perhaps VW have changed to the new part quicker than Skoda.

It used to be 06A 121 011TX , has it changed?

Sarah

I got mine from Audi with the PN: 045 121 011H

part number is 06A 121 012 X for the vrs, sarah thats the old part number that used to be supplied, what engine code was the golf? just checked an 045 121 011 H and again thats plastic

Strange, was definatley metal when I got it, was probably 2 years ago now but still have the receipt and pump in the car
