Tyres - anyone used Barum before?

Featured Replies

Looking at tyres for both my car and SWMBO. Both cars take 205/55/R16.

Barum Bravuris 2 seems to get good reviews as well as being good value. I can get them for £41 from Rotation.co.uk or even £61 fitted and balanced at National Tyres. The striking thing seems to be that it seems to perform like a mid-range tyre while being priced like a budget.

Anyone got any comments about these?

Cheers,

Martin

I havent used these on my car, but friends have used them and they say they are a good tyre. Not one of the best gripping tyres out there, but certainly very good!

I have had two on the front of my furby vRS for about a year now, have covered approx 16000m in that time. unfortunately need replacing now :'(

Grip has been secure, no unexpected loss of traction, and have coped reasonably well with the snow.

only had them fitted in a hurry as I had a unrepairable puncture, but would have them again at the right price. i believe they are a budget brand from a well-known maker but can't for the life of me remember who

I paid £150 for two fitted etc (25% discount) in 205/45/16

Hope this helps

Also, have fitted Kumho kU31's (£115 for 2 fitted) on the back and they seem very good. some colleagues of mine have them on their "performance" cars, and wholeheartedly recommend them too. may be cheaper than the Barum's!

Cheers! was driving me nuts (not literally!)

now the question is, how can the budget brand be better than the OEM SportContact 2's?! :wonder:

Better, very possibly, but enough to justify another £50 a corner? Maybe not

:D (there isn't an emoticon for "tightarse"!)

My mate had some on his car, took some abuse and lasted well.

Exactly same tread pattern as the Conti tyres too.

Good buy IMO.

Yes, but having had them on the back of my Xantia, and Proxes TS-1 on the front, I can tell you that the Barums are like wood compared with mainstream brand name tyres.

I always thought Barum was Michelin's budget brand... Must be getting confused in my old age!
