Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change just the coloured plastic casing on an Octavia 1 n/s wing mirror?

The mirror has been knocked off but amazingly the glass and plastic is not damaged, just the folding mechanism. I've found a replacement on Ebay and wondered if I could swap my silver casing with the primed casing on the new one, rather than paying for a spray job.
