HP1M1961(3)Hi all, just joined the forum today so thought id say hi. Iv'e got a vrs, 54 plate in bright yellow, and I absolutely love it. Anyway I need a little help, its not my car, its my Dads tdi (red i) thats not running well. When the engine is cold its fine but once its running at normal temp it looses power when the turbo kicks in, not handy when ur overtaking. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this would be greatfully received. Thanks

Welcome to the forums.

It sounds like it may be going into limp mode when the turbo kicks in... is it showing a check engine light on the dash?

dont think so, he hasn't mentioned any dash lights being on ! I see your vrs is catching up with mine, its done over 129,000 miles but still runs beautifuly ! B)

hi vrs 54 see you about and welcome

Touch wood mine is alright it had 86k on the clock when I bought it so I've put almost 40k on it in 2 years! I could say buying a turbo petrol car was a bad idea but it does better mpg than I ever expected so I don't really regret not going diesel. Mate of mine who is only on here occasionally has a yellow VRS with 136k on the clock, still going strong!
