Finally a spare wheel

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Finally found a spare steel wheel at my local scrappies. Its off an Audi and is 6.5J 16" ET42. Scrappy says it will fit fine. I seem to remember people talking about ET45 offsets on here, is there anything I need to be aware of or does the 3mm less indeed make bugger all difference?

Plus, could anyone bung a picture up of what the restraining bolt looks like for holding the wheel in place in the recess well?

Ta,

Steve

Useless bit of info perhaps: I have just got the tyre to go with the wheel I bought and a 16" tyre/wheel combie fits rather snugly in the wheel recess for anyone contemplating getting one rather than their gunk.

One document I read recently suggested Mercedes uses 5x112 PCD pretty much across their range so any Merc in the scrapyard might also be a good bet for a spare.

Yes, pcd will be correct but offset will be wrong.

Ah, OK, thanks for correcting me.

Ok, so how about the offset on the wheel I have bought? Its not off a Merc ;):) :)

No picture but I got the wheel retaining bolt and thumbwheel from the dealer.

Part number S1K0803899D C1J06 Bolt

£4.97 inc vat so was not worth fannying around trying to get it from another source.
