Aftermarket radio for Fabia

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Sorry if this is already discussed, but I've found so much conflicting information on this so that I don't really know what's the truth. I'm planning to replace original Skoda Symphony radio (square faceplate) to din 1 pioneer cd player. I've read that all I need is faceplate and cables should fit plug and play. My Skoda dealer told me that I need din 1 set which costs 75€ and it includes cabling and frame/faceplate. :wonder:

My car is Skoda Fabia 1 2007. Is that cable on that car ISO 10487 standard connector which fits straight to my pioneer cd player? What about antenna connector is it standard and fit without adaptor?

Is that slot for player in car din 1 slot to fit player snug there, just faceplate needed for visual cover?

Help greatly appreciated!

The wiring will all be plug in and play. The actual size is the same for the std headunit, just single DIN, but the face of it is a bit bigger. So to make it look nicer you get the face plate, i got mine for halfords, but have since learnt its cheaper to get it from the dealer, and also better quality. All you need to wiring is the aerial adapter.

Matt

I'm thinking it's a mark II Fabia, so the cost for that parts may well be different. Try posting here (http://briskoda.net/forums/forum/113-skoda-fabia-ii/) as that's for the mark II Fabia, 2007 and later, whereas this is for the mark I Fabia, up to 2007.

RE the annette, it may need a booster (about £10) as the after market HU's don't generally have the signal amplifiers built in.

It's mark I Fabia Combi. Even though it's first register is july 2007. When I input vin code to vin code decoder: http://igorweb.org/vindec/ it says that it's 2008 year model and that the code is right... Still headlights and body is mark I. So confusing. Perhaps I'll just ask dealer again 2006 year models faceplate and hope I'll get different answer. I knew I get help from this forum. Thanks fellows.

Just had the radio installation done. Got aerial adapter and faceplate cover from Skoda dealer. Was just wondering that where is that blue cable from aerial adapter supposed to connect?

Does onboard trip computer get it's time from radio rds signal? If it does what of those iso connector pins should be connected so that it works? If I remember right pins 1,2,3,5 and 6 were left unconnected from this new stereo (Pioneer DEH-5100UB). Anyone know what did those do in Skoda Symphony stereo? According to this I don't see any function on that symphony except that speed dependent volume (pin 1).

Thank you in advance!

Edit. Should have read the manual first...
