best polish and car care products

Featured Replies

Now start polishing. Here comes a topic on the best polish.

Autoglym every time. We also use it on "my" company's bus fleet.

I also use Autoglym vinyl polish or tyre dressing on the engine compartment!

Personally like Meguiars Gold Class......results:

Sorry its not a Skoda...the Octavia is in the background! :giggle:

megs for me too, now clean your tail pipes :)

I am another Autoglym man. Not saying it is the best because I don't know for sure but I like the results and the fact that many products have several uses. The glass cleaner, for example, is safe for use on dash plastics and as a tar / gunge remover on paintwork. Saves buying lots of different special products. The bodywork conditioning shampoo beads water away better than any other shampoo that I have used and the super resin polish never fails me. I have a new bottle of aqua wax that I am saving for the Yeti. Not used it yet although I have read good things about it. I am not a manic detailer and I don't use these clay bars etc but I don't mind spending half a summer Sunday making the car look good and for that Autoglym has served me well so faremoticon-0148-yes.gif .

I believe baby wipes do a very good job of cleaning and feeding leather seats.

I feed the seats in the Mazda with AutoGlym leather care cream. Being black they don't really show the dirt, apart from sun cream!

Another vote for AutoGlym - especially Aqua Wax.

It's simply brilliant, even does black plastic and the side glass. And smells of Hubba Bubba. ;)

Although I do have some Meguiars in the garage too.

AutoGlym again, but then on my car it is probably an annual job!!

Good old Welsh MUD!!

And it shows....nice!

and I think that this thread has answered my bird poop question from that other thread... tho the little bu**ers seem to have vamoosed for the time being. Probably off mating in the meadows and building nests some place else.

Boy black looks the dogs danglies when clean and shiny! Especially with the blacked out rear windows.

Another vote for Meguiars - Gold Class if you don't mind preparing everything before you polish, or NXT if you want a polish which will shift odd tar spots as you go (as the old Autoglym Radiant Wax Polish used to). I also find their glass cleaner, leather wipes and cream, wash mitts and microfibre cloths are good, and the latter are hard wearing too - I haven't used a chamois for many years now.

I don't find black that bad i wash it once a week and now it has a good layer of polish on it its not as bad as some make out. when the weather is good no rain it looks good for 2-3 weeks

Clearkote for me :)

Are you guys not getting polish and wax mixed up...............

I acquired a bottle of Autoglym the other day, apparently a branch of Tescos were selling them for 93p for a 325ml bottle. I used it on the old car the other day and its still shiny. Not to be outdone on cost, I've got 5 litres of a wax/sealant on the way, which the person selling it said it was very good, on the other hand I may have wasted £10.

Megs Gold Class isnt a polish mind , its a wax. I use AG Super Resin Polish on the Fabia , and have been using it for many years - the only bad thing about it is the white powdery residue it leaves behind which usually requires buffing off after youve finished. Use some AG Extra Gloss Protection after the polish , then finish of with a coat of Megs GC wax if you have the time and you will get a fantastic finish with lasting protection for your paintwork.

Raceglaze is the business for this (cleaner and balm) and I recommend it thoroughly to you.

If Clark at Polished Bliss uses it, then I can think of no better vote of confidence.....

I'm always amazed how many people confuse polishes with waxes

OR

Polishing with Waxing

Even reviewers!!

I don't think your alone there Chris, I know that this was also pointed out by Wardy sometime ago and I guess it's just truth in that you can't believe all that is written...................
