Elegance Spec change by stealth?

Featured Replies

There appear to be numerous posts on this Forum from those who expected power folding mirrors on their Octavia Elegance but didn't get them. Now it appears the variable boot floor is coming into the same category. I ordered my Elegance Estate yesterday and actually had a variable boot floor (albeit on a Superb) demonstrated to me at the time. However, I have picked up on another posting that this has become an £140 option! So, having just checked the website, guess what it is not now standard on Elegance trim.

I have emailed the dealer explaining how I see the situation and that I expect to get a variable boot floor and not by paying another £140! In all fairness, I don't think he was aware of this change as we were using the Jan10 catalogue for pricing and pricing the extras so I see it as an issue betwen Dealer and Skoda.

A real concern though, is what other (less obvious) corner cutting is Skoda doing? It seems very sneaky to implement a spec change ahead of new pricing/catalogue when that change (end March) is only a week away.

Anybody else getting caught out? What is being cut from other trim levels?
