on the way out of work, a little young lady decided to slam breaks on and i went into the back, yeah it was my fault so......

only a 5 mph bump so not going through insurance, but ive got a horrible little crack in my bumper to the right of the licence plate about the size of a 20p

im guessing ill need a new bumper? anyone know how much this is going to set me back?

cheers

It might fibreglass repair from the inside. :) If you look at the pic below, this is how my current bumper came back to me from Germany.... Good as new again now though. (same with bootlid but not relevant to bumper work)

There are companys who do repair plastic bumpers, its a sort of plastic welding process

I work in a body shop and do loads of these repairs. We grind the tear or crack smooth and use a special glue behind the bumper with a fibre glass sheet for support, once the glue has set we grind the excess off and use filler to shape the repair back to normal shape then repaint :D it's as easy as that!! They're are other ways like with a plastic welder or just glue, I've seen bunpers worse than jasons being repaired so don't worry,
