Stage 1 remap

Featured Replies

stage 1 remap being carried out fri pm by will at performance torque , will let you know how i get on tomorrow

Got my car done last week by Joe in Urban Performance in Tallaght, Dublin - 2 hours total for a customised map, including rolling road before and after and a huge smile on my face all the way home (With less than 1 mpg difference between the trip out and the return, but the ability to finally overtake 50 mph traffic safely without needing to see half a mile of road ahead)... Can't recommend him enough :)...

This qualifies as a 'soft' tune for the PD 105 engine, he's got a VW Caddy van pushing 170 bhp with the same engine and a DSG box...

Line with dots is power, other one is torque and the red is the new map.

what can i say i am thrilled

standard 212.0 bhp 208.9 lb/ft

after wills stage 1 remap

it actually peaked at 259 bhp but this was not a true reflection

actual 252 bhp and 280lb/ft of glorious torque :giggle::thumbup:

car was running well as standard a strong engine but the difference after was amazing , it may be an handful in the damp mind :p

scrabbling for grip in ist 3 gears and pulls very strongly without any peaks and goes all the way over to the red line very quickly

will need front tyres changing more regular :rofl::rofl:

will was great and explained everything he was doing and exactly what the graph meaned , he could have said you have 259 bhp to put a grin on my face but he explained that the engine was altering itself to the new map.

nice burger up the cafe as well  topgear in the waiting room and magazines that where in date :giggle:

couple of nice stickers to finish of with and i was a very happy chappie

Sounds excellent, getting my mk1 vrs done there in the next couple of weeks ! wish it was the mk2 tho ;);) have fun watch out for the speed camera vans lol.....

great you will not regret it

Does it have any other mods i.e. filter or exhaust ? thats v good gains staright from standard

the TSI's really seem to do well from a remap, thats only just under stage 2 TFSI territory. chuck up your rolling road rsults mate.

like you say ignore the peak figure, its all about the area under the curve not peak power

im interested to see how they perform at stage 2. afaik the TSI hpfp is more than upto the job, which will mean you wont require stage 2+ software.

so the next stage of tuning should be exhaust, intake and intercooler, im guessing your stage 2 wil be the same as the TFSI stage 2+.

and from there on turbo conversions.

Had my Cupra mapped by Will, top bloke.

the pd105 is good for a decent map ... davey wishart at torquetronix in kells did mine .... unfortunately the ecu decided to lock up during the tuning so didn't get a chance on a rolling road by the time davy got it working again, but i do know the car can now do 60 in 8 seconds and accelerates very hard in 3rd 4th and 5th .... a little weaker in 1st and second, but thats no bad thing because if it developed more torque it would beat the engine to death and probably destroy the clutch ..... the car also has a pipercross panel filter, cage mod, and is regularly filled with crap diesel and millers diesel sport 4.

fuel economy wise, she will do 600 miles on a tank of juice with rare long trips, tho we're doing france in july which should be interesting.

That was a pretty high standard figure mine was as book 198Bhp with Torque at 192lb ft.....

My after torque figure was 277.5lb ft

Must admit it drives absolutely brilliant on the torque and probably the best £500 ive spent!

I never thought i would love driving this car as much as my Mk1 Vrs....... but I was wrong it is better....

How much does a remap cost? I own a 1.8 tsi.
