Octavia Mk I - Convenience system components

The Octavia Mk I convenience system is made up of all or some of the following components, depending on model and optional equipment:

Convenience System Control Unit (J393)

Electrical equipment in the doors as follows:

- Electrical central locking with SAFE function.

- Power windows with obstruction protection.

- Electrically adjustable and heated exterior mirrors.

Also:

- Off delay for interior light.

- Monitoring and switching off all interior and luggage compartment lights as a protection against discharging battery.

- Sliding roof closing function as a result of a closing command from outside.

- Radio remote control for anti-theft alarm system and central locking.

Convenience system components are located as follows:

1. Central control unit (J393) - located behind the bottom part of the dash panel on the driver's side.

2. Connector - located in grommet between driver's door and A pillar.

3. Driver's door control unit (J386) - attached to power window motor.

4. Driver's door lock.

5. Connector - located in grommet between door and B pillar.

6. Rear left door control unit (J388) - attached to power window motor.

7. Door lock.

8. Lock mechanism for boot lid - located below trim panel of boot lid.

9. Fuel filler flap lock.

10. Door lock.

11. Rear right door control unit (J389) - attached to power window motor.

12. Mechanism for sliding roof.

13. Interior light.

14. Door lock.

15. Connector - located in grommet between door and B pillar.

16. Front passenger door control unit (J387) - attached to power window motor.

17. Airbag control unit - located on the transmission tunnel and accessible after removing the left footwell trim panel on the driver's side.

18. Connector - located in grommet between door and A pillar.
