Just saw the program on BBC2 and came away with the distinct impression that Toyota are being unfairly picked-on regarding this accelerator problem.

Reminiscent of the problems that Audi in the US ran into in the 1980s. I understand that Audi's problems set them back 10 years in sales terms.

Is this trade protectionism in another guise ?

If i was on a pc not a stupid phone i would search out my post saying that from weeks ago ;)

As a toyota owner for the last 6 years and now going to go Skoda I agree with this. US trying to protect there car industry don't you think?

Toyota's product, service and value have been great(it's a shame it lacks excitment). Our family other car is honda and I cannot fault them although more expensive to run.

The incident statistics certainly seem to support that and the US car makers are suffering at the mo'.
