Too many communication errors

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Have just had a problem using my VAG-com. I have been using it without issue for over a year on my laptop (win XP), but plugging in tonight gave me the message "too many communication errors"

Although i have not changed anything i double checked com ports etc and all 'seems' well.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

J.

Never happened to anyone?? :S

try unplugging the battery on the car for 10mins and then try again.

Is it a kosher rosstech cable or a fleabay special?

Fleabay cable but never had any probs before??

Try downloading VCDS-Lite Release 1.0 which was announced by Ross-Tech today. It is shareware and replaces VAG-COM versions 311 and 409.

I had same problems few times using different laptops. Usually happens when windows XP is not fresh or bugs or viruses are in the system. After reinstalling win xp everything was fine. I never actually looked for the way to fix it other way as I load fresh copy of windows every month anyway (either install or load ghost image). try to deactivate anti virus software while using vcds it may help as well.
