MK1 superb have a DMF? if it does is it obvious when its kicked the bucket?

Featured Replies

does the MKI superb (130 PD) have a Dual Mass Fly wheel?

if it does, how do you know if its gone out of tune as it were...

my cars done a 130k miles and theres no mention in the service book of it having a DMF change...so either its never presented a problem or its not got one. i can imagine its never had a problem because the car lives on the motorway.

but i know people have issues with VAG DMF's, our local taxi firm got their entire skoda fleet swapped over to SMF because the DMF's kept breaking. but thats taxi driver being a bunch of hoons for you

It will have almost certainly been replaced with the clutch unless your car is still on its original, which at 130k its doing rather well IMO if it is

My Superb was in yesterday to investigate a vibration around 1700 revs. Get this vibration in low revs in 4th and 5th when flooring it. Not very obvious, but I have noticed this recently. Independent VAG garage thinks this may be the DMF. I'd never heard of this until yesterday. If it is that, the clutch is usually changed at the same time. I'm thinking of selling it too - great timing :(

Since the 1.9TDi isnt the smoothest engine in the world i cant really tell if some vibrations are supposed to be there or not... theres nothing excessive though and never feel any bad vibrations through the gear stick

according to scribbles in my service book..... original clutch is still there, it seems to be doing fine, no slippage....though it is starting to judder when moving off in first.
