Decat & a Blueflame exhaust

Featured Replies

I have ordered a cat back Blueflame system from Awesome and was going to have it fitted, with a decat pipe, by R-Tech.

I have spoken to them and they will not fit it as it is hard to find a reducer from the decat pipe (3") to the Blueflame (2.75"??).

Has anyone got any recommendations on what decat pipe to use?

Get Haywood & Scott to make you one up?

I think I am just gonna go the Blueflame route.

I spoke to them today and had a good long chat with a (to me) knowledgeable bloke who explained the how's & why's.

Plus it isn't too bad a price for something I know should fit right, considering I am going to fit this myself :swear:

Does the blueflame de-cat have the downpipe as well or is it just a replacement for the cat alone? If it doesn't have the downpipe then you might be better off just getting the Blueflame downpipe and 200 cel sports cat to go with the BF cat back section, I think all in it's about £530 in the Awesome offer. and that way you don't have to swap a cat in at MOT time or find a friendly MOT place... or pay someone to get the EML light mapped out which will pop up with a decat

It is the downpipe and flexi bit.

After speaking to the Blueflame bloke he assured me it would fit straight on with no problems (though the way my luck is I ain't gonna bank on it :peek: )

I've bought the cat back so I just have to order the decat tomorrow from Awesome.

I have a couple of friendly MOT'ers and have spoken to R-Tech who will tweak my map when I am ready so that shouldn't be a problem.

Though I was told that I could fit a spacer to take the second probe out of the airflow but I will need my map tweaking anyways.

It's more than I wanted to spend straight away but hey ho watcha gonna do

I spoke to Nigel at Blueflame, nice guy sold me a Sport cat / downpipe at a very good price. Mated up to my Blueflame cat back system no problems,

I have recently removed the sports cat / downpipe and replaced with a decat .

This one

I fitted it a few weeks back. I had to make up a reducer pipe out of the equal length sleeve that came with the decat, plus i used a small length of exhaust piping same size as decat diameter, so that end could be inserted into the cat back system and clamped down. Real easy and no issues after fitting.

Yeah I was looking at that one but tbh for the saving (approx £50) I think I might be better off with the Blueflame one.

I was assured by someone at BF (didn't get a name) that it will be a straight fit.

If I were you I would go with Blueflame decat and have the same system all the way through.

Mind you I only paid £72 for mine as the seller has a low start price on some of them like this one for example.
