skoda vrs 2001 power loss

Featured Replies

I´m having a problem with my skoda vrs, it has been running prerfectly without any problems for the last 2 years.

Now when i´m driving it feels like i´m driving og a railway track and it has lost very mutch power and it is very slow getting up rmp, it sucks.

my brother had a superb and he had similar problems, it turned out to be Ignition Coil faliure.

how does it describes it self, if one Ignition Coil fails.

i´m hoping that this is something that i can fix myself, the dealership her is way to expensiv

i hope that u can read this :), im from iceland so my english is not perfect :)

Lump idle & no power. Theyre cheap enough so may be a good time to replace all 4 as usually theyll follow eachother.

Any other symptoms? Smell of rotten eggs (!) ?

Only real advice is to try & get it scanned for fault codes (DTCs). MAF failure might also produce similar problems.

there is a heat smell, but there is no smell of rotten eggs,

easy way to check coil packs is to pull them one by one, to be safe you can start the engine and have a listen, then turn off, remove the connector for the first one and restart the car, if it sounds worse then the plug you removed is OK so turn off, reconnect then move onto the next one. when you pull one and the engine sound does not change then that is the faulty one. HTH :D
