Would this work?

Featured Replies

The arches on my brother's Felicia are showing very early signs of rust so I was wondering if I got some Hammerite Black Paint and painted inside the arch after cleaning it all 1st would it help to supress the rust?

to an extent.. I would use underbody sealant like a tetroseal or shutz, AFTER treating the cleaned area with hammerite Kurust or Jenolite to neutralize whatever rust is already there.

Prevention is better than cure and all that! B)

Hammerite in my experience in situations like this is a was of time.

The rust creeps in under the paint and it flakes of in a big lump!

Better off using the shutz idea after neutralizing the corrosion as best possible

Right OK. Thanks.

No probs!

Rust is a merciless killer, does not discriminate against the Felicia just because its a Skoda! Fortunately the beast has a decent panel thickness compared to our Griffin and blue oval wearing friends.

Never owned a french car long enough for it to rust... :p

once rust has set in there is nothing you can do to stop it, but anything you can do to prevent air and moisture from reaching the metalwork will slow it down

Remember rust is lighter than carbon fibre!!!! So I've heard :giggle:

If anything I had fun spraying the arches on my Felly. It did start bubbling/flaking about a year and a half to 2 years later...then the HG went late in 2008 before i got my Favorit
