confusion over mk1/ 2 model years

Featured Replies

looking at upgrading the felicia, was set on an astra, but unsure now, maybe will stay loyal and look for an octavia, but i'm finding 54 regs in mk2 form, but also 07 plates in mk1 form, when did they change over? are there certain specifications that kept the mk1 going,

are there any must have options to look for?

I think the mk1 Octavia kept on as a Taxi only model?

I guess these have to be sold on at some time.

I bet they're decent cars though, almost all the bugs removed by then.

cant be true as the 2 mk1s 07/57 plates i've found are both well under 20,000 miles yet significantly cheaper than mk2s, i've never seen a taxi so low mileage!

May never pre reg'd when new plates arrived on the scene?

the Mk1 is still being manufactured as the Octavia Tour on continental Europe. So I think there may well have been an overlap with Skoda UK still importing Mk1 cars around 2006/2007 until Skoda marketing made a decision not to import the Tour to the UK market .
