Do I need the security code for the Columbus when I mount the Fiscon?

Advised to cut power by removing neg lead from the battery, but will that cause the Columbus to demand the security code...?

Not an authorty on this but others have said that as long as it is the same Columbus unit in the same car then it should not need recoding. It is the pairing that is significant.

Thanks, thats what I was told from the dealer when it was new, but they are not always correct.......
