Octavia Diesel DSG

Today I had almost completed a 20 mile journey when I've gone to accelerate but nothing happened apart from the engine revs increasing. After stopping, pulling away was OK upto about 20 miles an hour and then the acceleration was at snail pace. After the car had been left for half an hour everything seemed absolutely normal until the last two miles of my return journey when the problem reoccurred. My car was bought new in September 2005 and has done only 29000 miles. No weird noises or smoke nor flashing lights! Anyone else had similar problem?
