coilovers for a Mk5 golf hatchback

Featured Replies

per title, anyone know if coilovers from MK5 golf will fit my octy tfsi hatchback ??

The front struts are 55mm

Many thanks

They may fit, but the spring rates will be wrong

I didn't think the weight of the golf and octy was significantly different though, is there more to it than that ?

Get in touch with the coilover manufacturer and ask them if the spring/damper rates are the same for the model of Golf/Octavia your are looking at.

I'd say the spring rate wouldn't be quite right at the rear...

I rememember in the Mk2 golf days..... I had a Jetta first, which I lowered, but since all the kits were for Golf's, the back end

used to site a good bit lower than the front.

Yeah, it's the heavier back end :)

Not only the spring rates but the compression and rebound damping circuits wont be optimised either.

Thanks for all the replies, looks like I need to get a VRS specific set then - shame, lots of golf ones about.
