The new fabia FL model has daytime lights. I wonder if you could buy them in a few months and fit them to the pre fl ?

Is that the 'DE module' in the brochure? Can one switch this off? I prefer to choose for myself when I switch my lights on.

Its not in the brochure but its listed on the specs at skoda.co.uk. Apparently there is a switch in the fuse box to turn them off (i think thats where i read it would be).

There would be a switch, in the cabin fuse box if you have this facility fitted. My car just has a small hole where the switch would be, on a Greenline, so nothing to do with the DE module! I think that is a part of the projector style lights, rather then the plain lens type ones! (Guess).

I also think all the switch will do is put the lights on all the time, when you switch on, not use additional lights. How easy is it to just switch on and off when starting up, though? The big issue is remembering to switch off so as to not drain the battery, but you will get an alarm if you open the door with the lights on anyway and the car automatically switches from dipped to sidelights if you take out the key!

BTW, dont forget to switch off the indicators too as if one or the other is left on with the key out, you will have parking lights on that side, left on! :giggle:

ALSO, forgot to mention, if you are doing this just to look cool, fine but in bright sunlight, you will look FURTHER AWAY THEN YOU REALY ARE, due to an optical illusion, so may have more nutters pulling out in front of you! Motorcyclists have been moaning about this as it is now industry standard to fit day running lights as most of Europe want them and the makers cant be arsed to make different switch gear for small UK sales! :wonder:

Hmm - a great feature for the rear lights when pulling away from other drivers
