Best tip i can give is send them back under the distant seller law

why??

i think he means that because jamex dont have a great name, plus a lot of kits out there that are listed for the vrs are not and are either golf kits which are incorrectly rated in terms of weight or they are for the normal octavia and dont have the droplink mounts on the coilover body.

these are for vrs ive checked, and they have mounts for drop links, they are a different part number to normal octavia ones

well thats good news, thing is for that money its not far off weitec gt coilover prices which are made by KW and are very good and well tried and tested by forum members myself included!

As far as fitting tips, buy new topmounts all round, get a hub splitting tool from vw/skoda to crack open your hub, makes it much easier to do and cut down your rear bump stops if you are going low!

Also, you will need an offset 21mm spanner and spring compressors to help get the drivers side out (if it has standard suspension)

or an angle grinder B)

Bit weird the discription says coilover for fronts and spring and shock for rear though????

octavia does not have irs, it is a shock and spring setup on the rear.

or an angle grinder B)

Better to speak to sivrs on that front :giggle:

I nearly come close to getting the angle grinder out on mine but I decided to try spring compressors with the spreader tool and then lift/persuade with a large rubber mallet the strut from the hub.

lol, i wasnt joking, i did with mine!!

Yes but if you buy coilover suspension you normally get 4 coilovers, not a shock an separate spring

depends on the application, it is not independant rear suspension on the octy vrs

The octy vRS has a separate spring and shock on the rear, and the spring mount has the height adjustment on it. Both parts are mounted separately in the same place as the OEM spring and shock.

On some applications you do, on lots including the octavia however you do not, have you not seen the rear setup on your car, have a look you will see what we mean.

All I can suggest is read this thread from last year.

The general concesus is that you get what you pay for, in that they are made in China and give poor quality handling which despite what they say usually means they are not suitable for the vRS. The listing also mentions quattro and 4x4 not being suitable, there has never been a 4x4 vRS,

That comment got me searching, the same kit is also listed for the Audi TT which although golf based is a totally different weight to the octy, and I suspect that these springs are actually intended for the TT and not the Octy vRS, that would also explain the poor handling and ride quality experienced by those that have tried them in the past.

Mannyo is right, not the right weight is a common problem despite resellers assuring you they are for your car......they are often not!

Thanks for the explanation guys, coilovers i have seen have been front and rear, just havn't seen an octy with coilovers.must get out more. lol

they are NOT what i have bought....and mine are made in Germany
