Hi all recently got my mk1 octavia its on a 2003 plate just need a little help as i have no manual for the car what oil should the car be runing on think its got 5-30 in at min,

i have looked though threads and can not seem to find a straight answear thanks martin

Hi I used a 5-30 castrol edge oil on mine, it's on the variable service, I think if it's on fixed service the oil spec can vary from 0-40 to 10-40. I think the oil has to meet vw spec 504 now for variable or 502 for fixed

The thing is dont know if its on varible or fixed all i know it was serviced with fully senithetic 5-30 on the last service

Try putting you Reg number in here

It will give you the castrol oil for your engine.

For annual servicing vw/audi/skoda reccomend 15-40

5-30 fully synthetic is usually variable service. When u get it serviced use a

good 5-30 fully synthetic and get them to reset it to variable
