Octavia Problems - VAG-COM List Included

Featured Replies

Hey folks, not sure if im posting this in the correct part of this community - but i have a mk1 octavia that had a whole list of DTC's after the cylinder head being replaced. I cleared them all, but cannot get the check engine light to go off. I have the vag-com setup, and have posted below my issues. Its getting to the pulling out of hair stage - and when i tried to do a Throttle Body Allignment - it came up with a fail - could the Engine Label file be the problem?

Any help would be great !!

Thanks in advance :)

Hi there, i reset all the codes, took the car for a run, but still get the same engine codes:

Chassis Type: 1U - Skoda Octavia I

Scan: 01 02 03 08 15 16 17 19 22 29 35 36 37 39 46 56 76

17953 - Throttle Valve Controller: Malfunction

P1545 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Readiness: 1110 0101

And the EPC light wont go out.. Do you think that the car may of lost its readiness code - or that it may need re-programmed?

Im clutching at straws, as sometimes the car goes into limp home mode, and others it doest !! Anyone have any ideas on what i should try?

Thanks

Seems to me that all your reports point to a failed throttle body or a mechanical failure of the throttle body. Have you taken it apart and checked it out? Have you tried a replacement? Are you sure it's the right part?

have you cleaned the throttle body inside ? if not i would do that first with an old tooth brush clean all inside it especially where the butterfly seals against.

then start the engine and allow it to warm up fully then switch off , ign on vagcom on 01 engine then basic settings no 60 or sometimes 62 , watch the screen as it should say running then adp ok, leave it all foe a few more seconds before going out of basic settings.

always worth going adaption 00 and save to do the factory reset too

Hi Peter,

It would be a good idea to edit the last digits of your VIN number out of these posts. That's one piece of info it is unwise to broadcast.

Excellent - thanks for all the help on this topic.. And thanks to the MOD for editing the VIN number - silly of me !! lol

Ive cleaned the TB - and reset the codes - but i get an adpation ERROR ! instead of ADP OK ??

I'll maybe try the factory reset next an post how i get on

Thanks again folks :D

Sounds to me like the throttle body is knackered then or at the least very gunked up.

HI Guys,

How are you doing there?

Unsure if I am writing on the right place here...Hope you guys can give me some useful advice on the following. I just got an OBDII VAG COM cable to my Octavia 1.9 Tdi Pd (new shape) (04 July). I have just installed the VAG COM software (3.11, 4.09, tried both of them so far.) everything looks alright, port works fine, cable compatibility test shows ok etc.. When I run the full autoscan only my Enginer ECU is found by the software, none of the others are (Steering wheel, ABS, Airbag). Message is NO response from the controller.)....

I would really appreciate any help or reply advice on this!

Thanks in advance to you all!

Tamas
