Scout Mudflaps ?

Featured Replies

Assumed the Scout came with Mudflaps reading the forums I'm not so sure now. Does it or do I have to add them to the order.

Cheers !

Nope, there are no mudflaps available that fit the Scout.

Seems kind of strange to me, if there was one model in the range that would benefit the most from mudflaps it would be the 4x4 Scout!

My 4x4 came with rear flaps as standard, the fronts were extra.

Might be worth researching external suppliers, as the flaps are the same as the normal cars, so a bit short on the 4x4 ergo even more so on the Scout!!

Also my dealer told me Scout gets standard rear mudflaps?

I wish they did.

My local dealer has a brand new unregistered Scout in the showroom, no flaps

My 4x4 came with rear flaps as standard, the fronts were extra.

The standard Octavia flaps fit the normal 4x4 as the wheelarch profile and rear bumper are the same as the regular car - hence them being fitted on the rear as standard as with the rest of the range (excluding the VRS).

Its the different shape rear bumper and wheel arch extensions on the Scout which cause the problems.

The link posted earlier in this thread show how the standard flaps can be cut to fit the Scouts different profile, doesn't look right in my opinion as the flaps are black and the wheelarch extensions are grey.

Also the additional ride height on the Scout renders them virtually useless as the increased distance between the road surface and the lower lip of the flap is too big for them to be effective.

Come on Skoda, give us some flaps!!

Thanks all. Very interesting. Due to the very nature of the vehicle I thought it would have Flaps as standard. I'm amazed they arnt even available !!!

Is it becaused it's not economically viable for Skoda to produce them for the Scout ?

That would be my guess too, not enough Scouts on the road to justify designing, manufacturing, listing, distributing and stocking a new mudflap design.

Crazy, a 4x4 without the option of mudflaps... tut.

Plain silly from Skoda.

Not really - mud flaps just grind along the floor on a car that is designed to be driven off road (well more off road than any other Octavia anyway). Besides which, the Skoda mud flaps are so pathetically small that they wouldn't actually make any difference anyway, other than making the wheel arches look crap on the Scout ;)

Agree they don't look very esthetically, but do save a few chips from stones and gravel.
