Just out of Warranty, should I?

Featured Replies

Afternoon all.

Our vRS has just passed the magical 60k mile marker, which set an alarm bell ringing in my head. As the warranty is now offically expired, now is the time to start the modifications! it is currently a bog standard limited edition vRS, and for a start I want to get the wheels refurbished (I'm thinking satin black finish, with all the silver bits of trim done in the same colour). The big one is a remap though. I'm trying to decide if it is worth re-mapping a 60k mile old car, and whether there will be any worthwhile gains to be had. My other concern is accelerated wear and tear on other components. Is there anything that would be recommended to inspect/change before going for a remap on a car of this age?

I'm off to catch up on some threads detailing the various remap options now, as budget is going to be a big factor in the equation.... Performance for one's pound and all that :)

Cheers

Andy

You could start with the cambelt and waterpump ;)

And a remap on a 60k car is definitely worth it – just watch your clutch
