and finally im looking at hid light kits and iv came across some canbus kits?wat are these?

cheers in advance

bumper trims just pull off mate easy. the grill un bolts from the bonnet then lookin at reverse of the grill it clips together so just unclip them all. then the chrome bit i soaked in cheapo asda bleach for 48 hrs as its a nightmare to get off :giggle:

Hi,

Grille comes apart quite easily - you can prise out the clips from behind with a screwdriver.

Bumper trims just pop out and clip back in - really easy to do.

They always get a slating on here, for being illegal and potentially dangerous.

At the end of the day its your car and it's your decision what you do to it though

As long as you use them with projectors, it'll be ok :)

CANBUS is a clever electrical/electronic system, that runs auto electrics off a ring main, rather than having separate wires going battery -> switch ->[relay] -> device for every electrical device on the car. Given that you may have separate electric motors for each door window, both side mirrors, the sunroof, potentially for front and rear screen and headlight washers... it can considerably simplify the wiring.

I'm amazed that no-one has yet claimed that aftermarket xenons are illegal, despite the so-called evidence of this explicitly saying "aftermarket xenons should conform to the same standards as OEM setups". This is a recommendation, not a statement of law, which would say "...xenons shall conform...".

thats rather strange i ran a set of aftermarket 6000k hid lights in my golf and never had a problem with them.
