Electric folding mirrors

Featured Replies

Hi all. Had my new Octy 1.6 CR elegance for a few weeks now. I opted for electric folding door mirrors, nice useful function. But the problem is they don't always unfold automaticly when the ignition is switched on. In most occasions they do but sometimes either one or both stayed folded even the car moved off, when they had to be manually unfolded with the switch. I couldn't predict when this would happen. Has anybody else experienced the same problem? or it may be just normal? I haven't been to ask the dealer yet, any ideal guys? Cheers

I have them on mine and I noticed this at first. I just make sure I leave a long enough gap between turning the ignition on and running the starter. If you try to start the car while they're still unfolding, they get stuck.

I think there was something in the handbook about them unfolding automatically if you fold them with the key fob, but if you use the door-mirror adjust knob on the driver's door, you have to use this to unfold them.

Sarge.

Unfortunately, it looks like this nice useful function is no longer standard on elegance models.

I was reading a new octavia brochure and it no longer lists elec folding mirrors as standard - instead it's an option costing over £100 by the looks of it!

Barmy!!

When I ordered my Octavia Elegance in December 2009 they told my it would SURELY have electric folding mirrors... when I got the car, March 2010 I noticed this option was missing. I didn't mind, anyway, it had always seemed a minor option to me, but surely they have to be more careful and precise on what they tell to people.
