For quite a while now the parking sensors have not been working, usual put it in reverse followed by the long beep. Anyway yesterday and today selected reverse no long beep start reversing, getting nearer to the wall and they are working fine. Anyone else had this happen or any ideas why they should suddenly started working properly again.

A spell of dry weather.

If you live anywhere near where I do, they'll stop working again very soon - it's raining hard here. I think VAG fit Italian sensors - FIAT standard bits designed for a Mediterranean climate. Water ingress kills them in NW Europe.

See thats the strange thing it was howling it down yesterday and today, I know when I first had the car they were ok until it rained then would stop working for a few days after. But for a while now they just havent worked at all. I'm just puzzled :S

I have had mine occasionaly not working. Turn the ignition off and on again and they are usually back. Put it down to the computer not loading properly, as I have also had isolated incidents of parts of the maxidot display not working for a journey, eg the average fuel consumption went for a copuple of days but then worked fine again

This has happened to me a few times, and they usually start working again after its been raining oddly enough. However they have been dead for for probably about 10 months now, ive just learned to judge how big the car is
