Newly signed up to the forum, but lurker for a little while.

Currently got a Mondeo tdci (no rudeness please!) and its remapped by 170bhp by R-Tech.

I fancy more power hence would like to get a Fabia VRS, my question to you guys is can someone please give me an overview on how to get power hikes. I get the impression 180bhp is fairly easy, but what does it take to get 200 and possibly beyond.

180 isn't easy, 165-ish is a remap regardless of what some tuners will tell you. I've seen a fair fee mapped Fabia's from different tuners and they all pull circa 165bhp.

Define easy, and if you actually want to be able to use the 200bhp, rather htan just have a graph saying you have it? Looking at a decent amount of money tbh

But can 200 to 220 be achieved at reasonable cost and what mods get me there.

im running 195bhp

what you will need!!

For 200 bhp

Golf gt tdi 150 turbo

front mounted intercooler

sachs clutch

decat / sports cat

bigger air intake

if you were to do this on budget and you were good with your hands i think you could do it for a shade over 2k!

however if you want any more than 200 bhp your looking at a bit more, you would need a hybrid pd150 turbo or bigger, costing around 1k for the turbo

a standard pd150/160 turbo and a map should see your 200 on a PD130. something like a SEAT Sport FMIC would be a good idea for the future and it would probably be wise to start putting the money aside for a new clutch

See this is my point, yes you then have 200bhp on a set of rollers, but bhp alone doesnt make a car fast. Without being rude, ive seen plenty of higher powered TDi's with all their power, and for one reason or another, they arent as quick!

Weight, wheels, tyres, diffs, bushes, mounts all play a part too.

Id rather have 225bhp (which I have) and run the 13.x's (I run) than 270bhp (like ive seen a ibiza has) and run 14's (which I saw it run!)

Thats a stonking quarter & 0-60 time.
