Thought I'd best post to say hello.

Been a member on here for a while, more a reader than a poster. Returning after a brief encounter with a Astra which will not happen again, a brief history of recent cars -

Had a 05 Fabia 1.2 htp from brand new, exchanged as it wasn't cutting the mustard for a 80 mile round trip commute.

Exchanged that for a 53 Fabia 1.9 tdi PD Comfort, excellent car but had to go due to back troubles (sciatic nerve) needed a car with no clutch pedal.

Enter the Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Twinport, Easytronic. Truly awful gearbox in auto mode only slightly better in manual. 13 months I had that so after a better back (loosing 3 stone helped!!) and broken spirits I returned to the VAG group, not a trusty Skoda I know but still the first forum I thought of given the family ties.

Now a 06 VW Jetta 1.9tdi SE :)
