so here it is, ive been trying to find out which kit is best for me , mainly for comfort as i wont be using the car on track etc, theres only around £50-60 betwean them so the price isnt the issue [although my budget is £450ish] so cast your vote and if you like give me any info you can!! the guys at dpm tell me that the weitec would be the best choice so thats probly what ill get, but as its coming upto the general election id though id let you cast your votes anyhow emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Seeing as I have just purchased some AP coilovers, I voted for them :)

There isn't much in them to be honest, they're made in the same factory using similar (if not the same) parts - bit like VAG, same platform different name etc

In a way its like buying a Skoda instead of a VW :)

I havn't fitted them yet but I have heard great reviews!

either or mate, if i had coilovers id have ap ones

I've got Weitec's and I'm really pleased with them. There is more noise compared to standard, get the odd clonk and the droplinks hit the arch liners on full lock but the ride quality is really good. Been out in a car with AP's and not noticed a massive difference to be honest but I think the Weitecs are a tiny bit plusher. They don't go as low though.

so weitec`s are cheap kw`s, and ap`s are cheap weitec`s? lol

I've got weitecs and I'd deffo recommend them

its neck and neck!

i vote wietec purely because i have them badboys! :D

adlav good to hear your height is getting sorted, get her low!!

i vote kw v1's definately worth the extra pennys

vast improvement over the cheap vmaxx coilies i used to run!

and they now do a galvanised v1 so even cheaper! unbelievable piece of kit

The Weitec's would get my vote, in my opinion worth that bit extra.

Before you buy AP's have a look at this thread .

Makes for some interesting reading and swayed me towards the Weitec Hicon GT kit.

If I would do it again, I'd go for KW v1s. The Weitecs just seem a little too soft for me, they do bounce a bit more than I would have expected. But a vast improvement over the standard stilts!

P.s I purchased mine from DPM - I would definitely buy from them again, Dan was very helpful.

Glad I could help

Yeah the Weitecs are fine there is a slight knock here and there, mainly coming off/onto bumps. It's not loud, and been ok'd by Ally @ Unit 18, suspected top mounts (which if changed will still make the same noise). Other than that they're fine. Probably just what you need if you're after a more comfortable set up....

Let us know what you find.....

thanks very much mate, i actually bought the car with eibach springs on already so ive never actually been used to the oe suspension setup anyway! how easy is it to set the ride height? just a case of turning the spanner? or would that be far to easy emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

cheers mark

My Weitec's are very stiff!

Maybe it's cause they're wound down a fair bit ;)

ordered the weitecs this am , thought enough was enough emoticon-0136-giggle.gif ...

You will give us a full report on them I hope.

indeed, wont be here for couple of weeks and then whenever my mate can fit them for me...

The spring is a funny shape, and apparently this is so it doesn't need a helper spring... i've been told by supplier (well known VAG tuner) that if there are any knocks etc they will go straight to AP for me as they import them direct.

Will update once they're fitted :)
