I havent realy done it yet just a photoshop edit..

Does it ruin the look or is it looking good?

Do any of you know how to do it if so what is required to fit it securley and what are you using to do it?

No I dont have a FMIC, but I have to start somewhere :giggle:

Once I start doing the engine mods then yes FMIC, im new to the Skoda scene im just testing the reliabilty of the Fabia so far so good if it behaves then il start modding..

Thanks for the link

post 8 in that link should help :)

there's red 1 with porsche d90's on here somewhere, im sure somebody will know who it is emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Its KTP who's got that

personally im not a fan of the big mouth mod as not keen on a side stick on numberplate..ok if you've a fmic for cooling purposes, mines got 270 bhp but still looks standard, jabba were happy to leave it that way so it isnt a critical mod wth a fmic.

Looks good, although I don't fancy it myself!

not my cuppa tea either as i think the std front end is the best looking part of the car, but each to there own emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I'm still undecided. However I'm not a fan of the number plate mounted on the side.

It's a personal taste thing.

Although i'm sure someone on here rr'd with and without to see and gained/lost approx 7bhp. Could be wrong and i'm sure someone will be along to correct me in a minute if I am. Either way it don't really matter to you RED as you don't have an uprated one anyway. It's a matter of choice for the looks for you in't it. IMHO if you like it then go for it.

hi yes i ran 194.9bhp on my first run on an rr!! only 8 seconds at full chat

second run straight after had dropped to 187bhp!!

and thats with the largest seat sport fmic you can fit to a fabia!!

before i cut the bumper out you could feel the top of the intercooler was toasty on a run, now with the wide mouth and 4 x 40mm holes in the crash bar the FMIC stays cool!!

and bear in mind thats me ONLY at 195!! you must lose some serious horseys at 270bhp lol!! heat soak back down to 130bhp after 8 seconds :p

Thanks Jase my good man

First big-mouth I ever saw was on a Ford eScrote. Even though it looked well executed it didn't really do much for the looks of the car.

Most of us haven't got the skills to both design and implement something decent that adds to the overall looks of the front end and is coherent.

Thats true if not done properly it can look horrid.

I see some mixed views on this mod, I liked the stance of some others I have seen on here.

Would look best on black personally.

A while back in the London area of Essex I saw a Blue Fabia VRS SE it had the front mount intercooler clearly visible no grill to protect it and the actual size was perfect it fitted within the gap, looked very agressive similar designed to the evos and Skylines looked professionaly done, thats how the FMIC should be fitted to reduce the heatsoak. If I was to fit a FMIC its pointless having it hidden away, but obviously I understand its all about how securley its fitted.

Just done the mod myself a few days ago. Some days I wake up and look at it and really like it. Other days I think, what have I done :D It does look a lot more aggressive though and you do get a marmite response from it, people either love it or hate it but I guess its down to the individual and what they want :)

theres 1 ive seen somewhere on here that looked absolutely horrendous!! im sure someone will know the 1 i mean ...[no offence to the owner just my opinion emoticon-0140-rofl.gif ]

You mean the guy who took a chunk out of a sport bumper sort of... /___\ or \___/ style. Yup, I've seen that one! I'm still hoping it was a joke and not his car.

maybe someone can clear somthing up for me?

how is the big mouth mod achieved? because i thought u just removed the numberplate and the black plastic bit its atatched to and there u go! but i have see a couple of VRS's with the standard bumper and with the plate n black plastic removed but there is bumper there and no hole! just the bottom normal section of grille!

are you with me or shall i find a picture??

i too agree with Nfox! some days i like it some days i dont! i think personally if i were to do it i would leave the crash bar in and place the numberplate in front of it, just so the hole doesnt look quite so huge!

When you've removed the black plastic trim that the numberplate sits on and the lower grill, behind the numberplate plastic you have a great load of plastic behind that (part of the bumper). Its a case of cutting this out (done mine with a stanley knife). Thus making the mod irreversible! When I come round to sale mine I will probably source another bumper or simply swap it with a member wanting the big mouth but not wanting to do it themselves in order to return to standard :)
