Octavia vRS Stream MP3 and I-Pod control

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Recently bought and Octavia vRS with the Stream MP3 headunit in it and im looking to add my I-Pod to it.

I have searched and found the Dension Gateway 100 is the system i have to go for.

Just a quick question. I have the 6-disk changer aswell, does the Dension mean i have to do without that as i connects to the AUX input the Changer is connected to, or is there another 1 that i can connect to?

I know i could buy a 3.5mm jack and use the AUX in the jumbo box, but i would like control of the I-Pod.

You can gat a cable from Dension called a CD Changer Retention kit

Have a word with Shark_90, I know Shark Perormance are Dension distributors now

Thanks for the info. That looks to be what im after.

Cheers.

I can't comment on the Dension 100 kit, but I can on the 300 kit.

Do you have maxidot on your car ? if not, they you could click back now. :-)

I added my Dension 300 kit (for maxidot control). Worked an absolute treat for around 10 days, then stopped showing up on MaxiDot.

After a lot of phone calls to Dension tech support (I made all the calls, never had one returned) I had the first unti replaced... Fitted the

second unit and hey presto... back in business, but maybe for 11 days this time.

Seems to be that some car accept the kit and have been flawless, some a bit flaky and other just don't play ball at all !

Hat off to Shark_90, he offered to look at my setup and would have taken him up on the offer if I was a little bit closer to his place, so as

you will read his level of customer service seems to be second to none.... Dension on the other hand are not quite so helpful... They

acknowledge that there are problems with the dension and see no reason why work on some, but not on others and since we Skoda

drivers using Dension fall into the minority, its way, way down the list of "to do's" for their R&D team....

Sorry, bit of a rant there. ;-)
