How to check if cat is clogged?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I suspect that my cat is clogged.

Recently I have replaced ko3s turbine and the mechanic told me that the old turbine looks like it was overheating.

Every 2 or 3 days my check engine light comes on with famous 16804 error which indicates problem with cat. I have done vacuum test and vacuum on idle is around -0.6 - 0.7bar and at 1500rpms actually drops to -0.7 -0.8 bar.

Is this normal or my exhaust is clogged?

Best regards

no one? :(

You could use VAG-Com to check the values of the two lambda sensors but then if they're very different that would be what's bringing up the fault code anyway. Cat section of exhaust will have to be taken off and checked visually.
