1.8T Fabia

Featured Replies

Hi, Does anybody have any links to build threads to any Fabia 1.8t's? Ive sone a search but didnt really find anything. Ive a 330bhp BAM engine sitting doing nothing and a bare shell :giggle::giggle:

Just do it

You know you want to B)

**** me that'd be a beast emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

I read an article on one ages ago however I don't think it was on this site. Seriously need more of these to be done though I must say! Is it a hard conversion or something as I always thought there would be loads of these about :(

ive seen a lot of mk2 golfs done, maybe its just cos the fabia's are more expensive to buy in the first placeemoticon-0124-worried.gif

From my search everyone is saying to use Polo/ibiza 1.8t engines, My only concern is that the polo/ibiza/fabia mounts will not fit the BAM engine? If thats not the case the conversion should be pretty straight forward as ive a lot of experience having done a lot of conversions in the past. ive already priced a casge from custom cages up :giggle::giggle:

Seen a build thread from somewhere abroad. Something I've considered.

the BAM engine is out of a seat leon isn't it?? in that case the polo/ibiza mountings should fit it.. the thing that makes that transplant a whole lot easier is the fact that is was originally available in that chassis platform in the ibiza, which means you should be able to source a wiring loom and ecu from one to use with it

Your best bet will be to park the shell and all the bits on TeflonTom's drive, he'll never be able to resist.

Yes the BAM i have is from a Leon Cupra R. Aslong as the block head isnt different for mounting wise then it should be a straight forward fit. then its just wiring it up  anybody got any links to ones done before?

no sorry, i've never even seen a fabia 1.8t before, but it is a lot of work to do, you will be better off loosing the 6 speed gearbox with your BAM motor too, try and find a 2.0 petrol fabia for breaking and use the gearbox and driveshafts out of that

yawn.... this is exactly the reason i seldom bother coming into the fabia section nowadays..

anyways, if your car is a 2.0 model you may be in luck, some of the mounting parts etc you will be able to use again... seiously though, you should try and find an ibiza fr or cupra that you can rob the wiring loom out of

Aww come on Tom, was just a little joke referring to the now legendary "I beat a Mustang today" Mil post... of course a 1.8t Fabia would be awesome!
