manual boost controller fitting

Featured Replies

brought turborevs boost guage and manual controller already managed to fit guage via here (thanks) but stuck on wot pipe and how i plum in boost controller pic's would be great help

Why are you fitting a manual boost controller?

The boost in these cars should be controlled by the ECU. You can't just crank up the boost as the car needs to provide the right amont of fuel too.

Just go and get it remapped. AMD must be your nearest place

Fit a boost controller and I expect you may be back here with a thread long the lines of 'help my turbos pooped out'

Remap is the way to go and any of the big names should be OK for stage 1.

u dont no then is what your saying thanks

lol can you tell us the reason for fitting a manual boost controller then???

does it give you 300bhp??

i just like the apexi cause its cool as :swear: . but a manual one will no doubt mean you will be replacing the turbo sooner than you think!! eg my bro had a fiesta rs turbo low miles clean as a whistle liked BOOST so fitted said manual controller = blown turbo, brought new turbo within 3 weeks it had gone again :D so it came off and went straight in the bin!!

Mate, that attitude (and lack of grammar and punctuation) isn't going to get you very far.

Why are you ignoring the advice above? These cars don't do well with a manual boost controller, they're not recommended and you will probably blow your turbo if you fit it.

If you're determined to fit it, try having a look at http://forums.vwvortex.com/forumdisplay.php?27-1.8T-Engine-Forum and you might find someone who has fitted one there.

Good luck.

I think more to the point would be, If you do not like other people's opinion's on things then don't fecking ask a question in the first place. The people you are refering to are experienced modders and vag enthusiasts if you bothered to check out their profiles and do your home work! They are just trying to save you a blown turbo or worse!

Bottom line, have a bit of respect

i take it your talking baout one of these type of things?

take the n75 valve out and put this in. job done.

leave the n75 valve wired in though. zip tie it to the induction pipe work some where. stops the check light coming on.

you might also want to by pass the n249 valve as well as the ecu will stop it from boosting past the safe limits of the turbo and the engine by openning the dump valve.

the n249 bypass mod is well covered on here just do a search. or try here.

hope that gets you in the right direction.

Lol I fitted a cheap boost controller on my old Saab Turbo because wasn't bothered about it.

Fitted it, wound right open, got like 225bhp from like 150bhp and within 2 lengths down road big smoke out of exhaust hahaha, glowing turbo and manifold, inning she killed the turbo
