Just had great dealer service.......

Featured Replies

I Always had great service from Alex Lawrie Skoda in Liverpool, but last weekend the Toyota dealer went one better.

I ordered the Ipod / USB Integration with my Prius (Similar to the MDI), there was a delay in getting it because of flights and ash etc. Toyota phone me to tell me it's ready, so on Saturday they drive out, collect the car, fit the kit, wash and hoover it, bring the car back (but to the football pitch as my son was playing), give me a full run through the control's etc and then tell me the kit is gratis because of my extended wait (normal charge £280 including fittng), then drive off into the sunset.

Thats pretty good service imho.

Can't complain about that!

Do you think the Toyota dealers are out to try and woo customers back due to the recent recall bad press?

Seems to work, because people like yourself posting good reports on the 'web will soon spread.

Spot on that.

That said, I'd be well annoyed if a dealer ever washed my car.

Mike, I am not sure how damaging all the bad press has been, every time I have been in, the showroom has been a hive of activity

I know what you mean about the dealer washing it, these guys use a local detailing boy for their vehicle prep (Who lives on the corner of my street) and I had a chat to him when mine came in, no sponges or car wash so I am reasonably happy. He has educated them on Microfiber's and mitt's etc.

Our Toyota garage hasn't changed its level of service despite the recent bad press, their service has always been better than any other dealer I have ever visited. Even for just an oil change service our car came out fully vac'd and washed and during our wait you can either watch all the service bays from comfy chairs or browse the internet on one of many computers, play on the playstation 2, watch some TV, read some mags and all this while drinking free tea and coffee B)

My local Toyota dealer has fre tea / coffee / water, a PS2 in a big purpose built cabinet with a couple of controllers, a TV, lot's of comfy armchairs and magazines / daily papers.

There is a viewing area as well just like yours Matthew. I always though Alex Lawrie where good, but the Toyota place knocks spots off them.

PS, your old Specialised is putting in some stirling service mate, switched to road tyres and rattling off the miles at the weekend

I get this free stuff at my dealer (Elefunk not included)

Mee too. i've just spent 2 days detailing my parent's Swift. It's due a service at the dealer soon and the last thing I want is someone washing it.

Toyota do have good service when my mum's had a recall before all the pedal thing a couple of years ago they gave her a bottle of champagne and a bunch of flowers to make up for it. Though I normally tell her not to let them wash the car but this time it went in for a brake fluid change and it got washed its now got a billion swirl marks :wall: so I'm not happy bout that after polishing it with a DA last year the paint looks rubbish. Will have to do it again sometime. Normally stick a note on an a4 sheet on the dash saying not to wash the car; they can vacuum it out all they like though lol.
